Cyclone Montha, which has developed in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to bring heavy rains again in Nepal. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the cyclone has already started affecting Nepal’s weather system.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, has informed that the effects of Cyclone Montha have started to be felt since Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, light rain is being experienced in some places in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces, including the Kathmandu Valley, and in one or two places in Lumbini, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

The division has stated that due to this cyclone, heavy snowfall is likely in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces of Nepal from Thursday morning to Friday morning, as well as heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.

Due to this, all districts of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati should be on high alert. Similarly, districts like Dang, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Mustang, Manang, Gorkha, Nawalpur, etc. should be on high alert.

Similarly, the division has stated that people in Lamjung, Kaski, Myagdi, Gulmi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Baglung Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, etc. districts should stay updated on weather-related information.
