
Delegation team of 2025 SCO Media Forum Visits Urumqi International Land Port Area
Urumqi, China – May 2025:
The delegation team of the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media Cooperation Forum visit the Urumqi International Land Port Area, as part of a broader initiative to strengthen media collaboration and regional connectivity among SCO member states monday.
The delegation included media professionals, journalists, and communication experts from various SCO countries. The visit was warmly welcomed by local officials and representatives of the port, who provided in-depth briefings on the facility’s role in promoting trade, logistics, and economic development along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) corridors.
Participants explored the port’s operations and its strategic importance in linking Central Asia to global markets via rail and road connectivity. The visit highlighted the potential for enhanced media cooperation in sharing developmental stories, infrastructure achievements, and cross-border collaborations among SCO nations.
This field trip was part of the extended program of the 2025 SCO Media Forum, which aims to foster dialogue, information exchange, and mutual understanding among member states through responsible journalism and joint media initiatives.
