KP Oli administration picks 19 ambassadors (with namelist)
The KP Oli-led government has recommended Nepal’s ambassadors for 18 different countries. The cabinet meeting on July 29 made the recommendations, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Raj Kumar Gupta told the RSS. Shankar Sharma would be repeated as Nepal’s Ambassador to India, while Lok Darshan Regmi is recommended for the United States of America.
Minister Gupta said that the cabinet meeting also decided to recall ambassadors from five countries. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha from China, Basudev Mishra from Sri Lanka, Milan Tuladhar from Russia, Kailash Raj Pokharel from Australia and Dan Bahadur Tamang from South Africa were recalled.
The fresh recommendations include Krishna Prasad Oli for China, Chandra Prasad Ghimire for the UK, Shaila Rupakheti for Germany, Naresh Bikram Dhakal for Saudi Arabia, Dhana Prasad Pandit for Israel, Kapil Man Shrestha for South Africa, Shivamaya Tumbahamphe for South Korea, Prakash Mani Poudel for Portugal, Rita Dhital for Pakistan, Kanta Rijal for Australia, Sanil Nepal for Spain, Netra Prasad Timilsina for Malaysia and Ram Krishna Bhattarai for Sri Lanka.
Most of the newly-recommended ambassadors are NGO workers, the critics argued.
