Chinese President Xi Jinping says China and the United States should address frictions and ensure steady growth in ties.

The Chinese leader made the remarks during a meeting with his US counterpart, Donald Trump.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held talks ahead of the APEC meeting in the Republic of Korea.

The discussions focused on how the two leading economies can bring confidence to the world.

President Xi said the business relationship should serve as the anchor and driving force, not a stumbling block or point of friction.

President Trump said the two countries can accomplish many great things for the world and have many years of success.

China has called on the two sides should create conditions to development their ties, as President Xi told President Trump that both of them at the helm of China-US relations.

The meeting took place after several rounds of trade talks between the two delegations.

The last one was held just last weekend… when the two sides agreed that the US suspend the 24-percent reciprocal tariffs for an additional year… while China will make corresponding adjustments to its countermeasures.
